Today stays close to Erg Chebbi. There is no long intercity drive, leaving the day open for the landscapes, communities and slower rhythm of Merzouga.
Morning — Around the Sahara by 4x4
After breakfast, follow desert tracks around the Erg Chebbi region. The exact circuit can change with weather, sand and local conditions.
One of the possible stops is Khamlia, a village known for its connection with Gnawa music.
When local musicians are available, spend some time listening to their rhythms and learning about the musical traditions of the community.
Nomadic Life Around Merzouga
When appropriate and locally arranged, there may also be an opportunity to share tea with an Amazigh or Berber nomadic family living in the desert region.
These visits depend on local availability and are approached respectfully rather than treated as guaranteed attractions.
Afternoon — Camel Ride Across Erg Chebbi
Later, return toward Merzouga and prepare for the part of the day when the vehicle stays behind.
Meet the camel team and begin your Morocco camel ride across the dunes of Erg Chebbi.
When conditions allow, stop on the sand for sunset before continuing toward the camp.
Night — Sahara Desert Camp
Settle into your private tent for the night. Depending on your booking, accommodation can be arranged in a comfortable camp or an upgraded luxury desert camp in Merzouga.
Dinner is served in the evening, and traditional drums or music may follow when organized by the camp.
Afterwards, the quieter part of the evening begins: open dunes, little artificial light and time to enjoy the Sahara after dark.
Driving distance: approximately 50–60 km during the desert circuit
Driving time: approximately 1–2 hours in total, excluding visits.
