5 Days Agadir to Marrakech Desert Tour

A 5-day private journey from Agadir to Marrakech through southern Morocco, combining the Anti-Atlas, kasbah landscapes, Dades Valley, Todra Gorge and the dunes of Merzouga. The route is designed for travelers who want to experience the Sahara without rushing through every stop.

From Atlantic Air to Sahara Dunes in Five Days

This five-day route begins beside the Atlantic in Agadir and ends in the energy of Marrakech, but the real story happens between the two cities.

The road gradually leaves the coast, crosses the landscapes of southern Morocco and reaches the valleys, kasbahs and desert routes that define the country’s interior. Instead of treating Merzouga as a quick photo stop, the itinerary gives the Sahara its own night, with time for the dunes, a camel ride and a desert camp.

The return toward Marrakech passes through Ouarzazate and Aït Ben Haddou before crossing the High Atlas. The result is a compact journey with changing scenery almost every day: argan country, Anti-Atlas roads, palm valleys, limestone gorges, desert dunes and mountain passes.

This tour works especially well for travelers arriving in Agadir who want to finish their Morocco journey in Marrakech rather than return to the Atlantic coast.

Day by day

Your itinerary

  1. The trip begins in Agadir, where the Atlantic atmosphere quickly gives way to the agricultural plains and foothills east of the city.

Our first major stop is Taroudant, a historic walled town often described as having the scale and rhythm of a smaller southern medina. There is time to walk near the ramparts, see the old streets and settle into the slower pace of the journey before continuing inland.

The road then moves through Taliouine, an area strongly associated with saffron production, before the landscapes become increasingly dry and mountainous.

By late afternoon, we reach the Ouarzazate region. The first day is deliberately balanced: enough distance to move deep into southern Morocco, but without turning the journey into a full day inside the vehicle.

    Overnight: Ouarzazate or nearby

The moments that define this journey

This itinerary is not built around repeating the same type of scenery. The Atlantic atmosphere of Agadir gives way to agricultural plains, mountain roads, palm valleys, rocky gorges and eventually the Sahara.

The desert is not treated as a quick stop

Merzouga receives its own afternoon, sunset experience, camp night and morning. That makes the Sahara feel like part of the journey rather than a destination reached only for a photograph.

It finishes where many travelers want to continue

Instead of returning to Agadir, the tour ends in Marrakech, making it easier to continue your Morocco itinerary without losing another day on a return transfer.

Private rhythm

The journey can be adjusted around your interests, photography stops, meal preferences and preferred pace. The goal is to keep the long-distance sections comfortable rather than making the itinerary feel like a race between destinations.
