Two weeks gives Morocco enough time to unfold gradually. The journey begins on the Atlantic coast, moves through the cities and mountains of the north, reaches the medieval streets of Fes, crosses the Middle Atlas toward the Sahara and then turns west through the valleys of southern Morocco to Marrakech and Essaouira.
This Morocco 2 week itinerary is built for travelers who want more than a fast circuit of famous landmarks. Several places receive enough time to slow down, including Chefchaouen, Fes, Merzouga and Marrakech.
Starting in Casablanca, the route first introduces Rabat before following the Atlantic coast toward Asilah and Tangier. Chefchaouen then changes the rhythm completely, with two nights among the blue lanes and mountain scenery of the Rif.
The historical side of the journey becomes stronger around Volubilis, Meknes and Fes. A full guided day in the medina gives you time to understand the old city rather than simply walk through it.
From Fes, the landscape changes quickly. Cedar forests, Ifrane and the Ziz Valley gradually lead toward Merzouga, where the road gives way to the Erg Chebbi dunes, a camel ride and a night in the Sahara.
A second day around Merzouga makes this 14 day Morocco itinerary less rushed than shorter desert circuits. There is room for local villages, desert landscapes and time around the dunes before continuing toward Todra and the Dades Valley.
The final section follows Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou across the High Atlas to Marrakech. After a guided day in the city, the route reaches the Atlantic again in Essaouira before returning to Casablanca.
For travelers planning two weeks in Morocco, this itinerary combines coast, imperial cities, Rif landscapes, the Sahara and southern Morocco without making every day feel like a long transfer.
The moments that define this journey
Fourteen days changes the pace of a Morocco trip. Instead of using every destination as a one-night stop, this route gives several places enough time to feel distinct.
The north is not skipped. Rabat, Tangier and Chefchaouen come before Volubilis and Fes, giving the first half of this two week Morocco itinerary a very different character from the Sahara section.
Fes and Marrakech both receive dedicated guided days, while Chefchaouen and Merzouga each have additional time built into the itinerary.
That extra day around Merzouga is particularly valuable. Many shorter tours arrive at Erg Chebbi for sunset and leave again the following morning; this route gives the desert more space within the journey.
The route also avoids finishing immediately after Marrakech. Essaouira adds the Atlantic coast and a slower final stage before returning to Casablanca.
